Yan Wei is passionate about the difference that design can make in people’s lives. Through creative collaborations across diverse fields, she enables others to experience that positive impact for themselves.
As a designer and photographer, Yan Wei finds herself using her heart and mind to observe, experience and understand the changing world around her. Her areas of expertise include design thinking, design research and experience design.
Yan Wei has designed and prototyped future home concepts for families in China, as well as new service centre experiences for a government agency in Singapore. She also interviewed families and shared their stories as part of a project to inform healthcare financing policies.
An educator at heart, Yan Wei has thoroughly enjoyed conducting design, photography and dance workshops over the years for learners from all walks of life.
Yan Wei holds a degree in industrial design from the National University of Singapore. As part of her design education, she spent a semester abroad in Sweden and exhibited her work in the Milan Design Fair. She currently serves as an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Polytechnic Design School and has also volunteered as a photography instructor to migrant workers in Singapore.
