Marshall wants to help create a responsible food system that moves beyond sustainability and sees New Zealand as a great place to start. His expertise lies in holistically applying design thinking at the intersection of food, science, technology and environment with a strong passion for climate action. His strength is in consideration, taking into account a wide range of worldviews to understand perspectives and generate optimal solutions, especially in areas that are personal and divisive.
Previously working as a food product designer in North America, he has gained a strong understanding of a food production and consumption system that must be radically transformed to fit a new paradigm needed intergenerational betterment of both people and planet, that is now paired with a systems thinking approach and an optimistic vision for what a collaboratively designed future can be.
