James is driven by a strong interest in helping people empower themselves to be changemakers. His work is driven by a deep sense of empathy and a desire for a creative approach to problem solving, all while retaining a sense of humour.
At ThinkPlace, James has worked on projects ranging from digital transformation for a major INGO in Uganda to adolescent family planning in Kenya to creating and testing fortified food for low-income communities in Nairobi.
James has varied professional experience in writing, editing and analysis gained from over 8 years of working for publishers in London and New York. Additionally, he has a background in qualitative and quantitative research from working in legal, financial and policy settings.
James holds a degree in politics from the University of St. Andrews and a degree in law from the University of Edinburgh.
